As a professional rowing athlete at two world championships and a successful coach at the world university games in Russia, Robert has developed his knowledge of high performance teams. During his professional career, Robert implemented a global supply chain financing program for Heineken International, where he was tasked with training the financial directors of the operating companies within Heineken and its global suppliers on how to use this new program as a win-win situation for both parties. After the successful implementation of this system, Robert decided it was important to gain a greater understanding of the concept of “value and purpose”. In 2014 he left The Netherlands to work for a boutique investment bank in New York. During his time on Wall Street, he structured multiple M&A and LBO deals which allowed him to understand company valuations, deal structures, negotiations and competing stakeholder interests.
After meeting his co-founder Dennis and recognizing they both had similar ideals and intentions for the allocation of capital resources, they established Value & Purpose with the aim of creating true meaning and worth for all stakeholders.
Robert holds a Master of Business Administration and Financial Management from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.
